What is the time commitment per month
Board members are asked to take lead on events during the year, during a non-event month this may comprise event committee planning meetings in addition to the regular board meeting and prepatory reading for the board meeting. This could therefore account for 5 or more hours per month. On months where an event is happening that the board member chairs, that could account for another 6 to 8 hours
Is there a Give/Get?
While it is encouraged that all leaders of the organization are recurring donors at some level, we also acknowledge that “sweat equity” in terms of volunteer hours put in is just as important.
Do I have to attend events that I don’t help plan?
Attendance at events is encouraged by all of the PrideBrazos leadership. However, it is also acknowledged that no one person can go to everything and that some events do not work out with personal needs, time commitments, etc.
How long till I know if I am being considered?
Please be patient. While you could hear quite soon after an expressed interest from the governance committee for Pride Community Center of the Brazos Valley, sometimes it may take longer. In addition, each considered applicant has the opportunity to present themselves at a board meeting. Voting a candidate into the board then typically happens at the next monthly meeting following such introductions.
