STANDING COMMITTEES
- LGBTQ+ Youth Group Leadership
- The Communications Committee is the creative heartbeat of the Pride Community Center. This team ensures that our message reaches the community effectively, inclusively, and consistently. By managing our public presence, committee members help connect local LGBTQ+ individuals and allies with vital resources, events, and advocacy efforts.
- Key Tasks: Digital storytelling, content creation, graphic design, brand advocacy and media outreach
- Who Should Join? We are looking for creative thinkers, writers, social media enthusiasts and designers of all skill levels. If you have a passion for communication and a desire to help the Pride Community Center grow its reach, your talents belong here.
- The Governance Committee ensures the Pride Community Center operates with integrity, transparency and efficiency. This team focuses on the “big picture” of the organization and keep us sustainable for years to come.
- Key Tasks: Developing organizational policies, recruiting new board members and ensuring legal and ethical compliance.
- Who Should Join: We are looking for individuals with a background in law, nonprofit management or human resources who enjoy organizational structure and policy writing. These members should be detail-oriented thinkers interested in long-term strategy and ethical leadership.
- The Finance Committee provides the oversight necessary to keep our mission moving forward. This team manages the center’s fiscal health, ensuring that every dollar donated is used effectively to serve the LGBTQ+ community.
- Key Tasks: Budget planning, financial reporting and overseeing internal audits and financial controls.
- Who Should Join: We are looking for individuals with experience or a drive to help with accounting, banking or financial planning who are comfortable working with spreadsheets and data analysis. These members should be passionate about fiscal transparency and ensuring the center’s financial longevity.
- The Outreach Committee is the “boots on the ground” team. Their goal is to bridge the gap between the center and the wider community, ensuring that everyone knows what resources and support are available to them.
- Key Tasks: Tabling at local markets, networking with other nonprofits and increasing our presence at community events.
- Who Should Join: We are looking for individuals with outgoing personalities who love meeting new people and engaging in public speaking. These members should be community advocates passionate about representation and happy to represent the center at local markets and fairs.
- The Programming Committee is responsible for the recurring events and services that make the center a home for so many. They curate the educational workshops, support groups and social gatherings that happen year-round.
- Key Tasks: Designing new program initiatives, securing facilitators and evaluating the needs of the community.
- Who Should Join: We are looking for individuals who can identify gaps in service and propose new center offerings. These members should be empathetic listeners who want to facilitate safe and inclusive spaces for others.
- The Donor Relations and Sponsorships committee focuses on building lasting relationships with the individuals and businesses that fund our work. Members work to ensure our supporters feel valued and see the direct impact of their contributions.
- Key Tasks: Managing donor outreach, securing corporate sponsorships and coordinating appreciation campaigns.
- Who Should Join: We are looking for individuals with strong interpersonal skills and experience in sales, fundraising, or networking. These members should be persuasive communicators who are comfortable building professional relationships and making the case for community support.
EVENT COMMITTEES

This formal evening serves as both a primary fundraiser and a celebration of the community’s achievements. Members of this committee work to create a sophisticated, memorable experience that inspires generosity and highlights the mission of the Pride Community Center.
- Key Tasks: Theme and decor, venue and catering, auction management, program scripting and guest experience.
- Who Should Join? We are looking for individuals who enjoy the fine details of planning high-profile events and want to help us reach our most ambitious fundraising goals through a sophisticated and memorable guest experience.
- The 2026 OUToberfest Committee: is the planning team for our signature fall festival! This committee handles the logistics and vision for our largest community celebration, focusing on family-friendly and seasonal fun.
- Key Tasks: Vendor coordination, entertainment booking and managing the unique logistics for the 2026 event.
- Who Should Join: We are looking for individuals with a creative spark and experience in vendor relations or local business networking. These members should enjoy working in high-energy, collaborative team environments to bring large-scale seasonal celebrations to life.
- The 2026 Annual BBQ Committee organizes one of our most beloved traditions. This team focuses on creating a relaxed, family-friendly environment where community members can gather and connect over great food.
- Key Tasks: Food and beverage logistics, venue setup and coordinating volunteer shifts for the day of the event.
- Who Should Join: We are looking for individuals with a passion for community, fun and BBQ. These members should believe in the power of building community through shared meals and relaxed, family-friendly gatherings.
- The 2026 Pride Weekend Committee plans the flagship event of the year. This team works year-round to ensure our Pride Weekend is a safe, joyous and high-impact celebration of our community.
- Key Tasks: Large-scale event logistics, safety planning, and coordinating multi-day activity schedules.
- Who Should Join: We are looking for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments. These members should be visionaries capable of managing many moving parts to create a high-visibility events for the LGBTQIA+ community.
