Brazos Valley Pink Pages: 2004

October is LGBTQ+ History Month.
Today, Pride Community Center features content from our own Brazos Valley History

In 2004 the Brazos Valley Chapter of Parent’s Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG-BCS) created a 5 year plan for growth and presence in the Brazos Valley.

From that plan came the 2004 version of the Pink Pages, a local directory of LGBTQ+ friendly businesses.

Such publications are quite common across the country and help LGBTQ+ people find safe spaces to dine, get healthcare, have their hair done, or hang out. Some national “directory services” have even jumped on the “bandwagon” to provide such directories across the country. Such efforts are laudable, but local input, local action, will always carry the day.

Pride Community Center features the Brazos Valley Pink Pages, the entire PDF copy, on our website today

We also maintain a local resource database of our own. But, it needs help. We need you to recommend businesses, providers, etc in town that are LGBTQ+ competent and friendly. Communicate with us through the messenger function of FB or email our Executive Director directly at operations@pridecc.org
